I'm so sorry and it hurts me seeing photos of a nice vehicle in that condition.

No estimate yet...I should know by Wed of next week. I'll post the damage.
The car really is fine. I just lost the front quarter panel, a rim and the bumper.
It runs and is ok... Yeah everyone walked away...The funny part is I had the window down and the mirror from the door flew in and hit me in the head. It was like the cars way of smacking me.

Damn slow crap cars in my way!!

Aluminum

Sorry to hear about your mishap.... Looks like the damage is fairly contained--hopefully. It appears that the aluminum fenders sort of "peel off" in an accident. Is that what happened? I hope, once repaired, things are as good as new. On the subject of non-steel skin, it looks like the area surrounding the rear license plate in my '07 is made of plastic. Has anyone else noticed this?

It is. Due to different size license plate sizes around the world, they make different lower panels for the trunk lids so the recess is of different widths to accomdate & trim out the plate. The difference was more pronounced in pre '07s. Look at pix of the rear of '06 < Euro cars vs USA cars, you'll see the difference. Maybe the 07 > are all the same?

Sorry Boss...I bet it hurt you more than it hurt the ride. Still, must be thankful everyone's fine. How did the other car fare in this duel?

The Olds really had no rear-end. This guy just decided to lock up his car to make a turn across two lanes of traffic. As we all know our NAV SUCKS!! I was trying to enter in an address and the two together spelled disaster. I heard his tires first and looked up to see him leaving rubber. I swerved but still clipped his rear. I just got the estimate....ready?

14k in damages and thats without my Foose wheels and new tires

That is a very expensive lesson on not entering a destination while moving... but don't worry. Even if the new destination could have been entered by voice, you would have been so engrossed with saying and repeating, that it probably would have happened anyway. Look at all the stupid things that happen when people are talking on a cell phone or lighting a cigarette.

All is fine. The car is structurally fine...and I'm getting my AMG bumper now..

So it all works out! Insurance is even covering my wheels...

She will look meaner than before this all happened. I'll post pics of the finished product.

Talking Pics of the repaired E-class

Here are the pics.

Just for the record O'Hare Autobody in Bensenville, IL did the repairs.
Those guys are hands down the best in Chicago. If you own a MB or Porsche this is the place to go....

She now has the AMG front bumper, a new front windshield (I raised up the front tint so its not so big\wide across the front) the Foose wheels are on....radar detector installed....anyway, I'm glad to have it home!

I had them quote it out before the wreck and the quote was $2,200.00 installed.
