Experience with my GS...

300 miles on the odometer. The dashboard has a lot of rattles. Already going into the shop on wednesday.

Car is very smooth and quiet otherwise. Feels faster than the E350. Overall pkg looks nice, but I think id prefer the E-class over this car. Wish I could say the car is better but its not. Also the HK in the E sounds nicer than the Lexus system (didn't get Mark levinson).

I think GS is about $10K cheaper. I also considered GS. However I do not like interior and overall style. I looked also in M45. It looks better than GS and probably cheaper, so I decided avoid both.

The GS should be a faster car. I sat in one but it was very small inside compared to the E, I also did not care for the interior. For a redesigned vehicle, it felt like a very dated design. I could have sworn I was driving a late 90's car...

Not to knock someone else's car but I have two neighbors with GS Lexus. One is a brand new GS350 and the other is an older GS300. In both cars, the trunk would be practically useless for our vacations.

My neighbor also demonstrated the electric trunk closing feature. It took forever for it to close. The next time I went to a Mercedes dealer, I checked out that feature on a new S550. The W221 worked much more quickly and smoothly (of course it's also more expensive).

Another problem I have with the IS350 and GS350 is that I have difficulty seeing out of them. The IS350 was especially bad.

Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I characterize the IS350 and GS350 styles as Neo-Japanese. Not my cup of tea.

Now if anyone wants to take a shot at my new '08 E350, they are certainly entitled.
