Porsche Lease

I have owned my 2005 Boxster for 1.5 years and LOVE IT! With that said, my wife just told me that she is pregnant and thus I need to start thinking about a family vehicle (W211).

I have been thinking about doing lease trader to allow someone else to assume the payment (735.24 / month - 15,000 miles / year) until the lease expires in 1.5 years. Has anyone done this? If so, how has it worked? Finally, if someone assumes the lease from Porsche financial, do they assume the entire lease or am I still legally responsible?

Is there any other method that would allow the Mercedes dealer make my lease go away without charging me the remainder? Also, what is now a reasonable discount on an '07.

Thanks!

I looked into it when I was getting rid of my EXT before I bought my 550. The new buyer assumes all responsibility. I would give lease trader a call, they have a lot of experience with these kinds of transactions and would be able answer any of your questions. I know of several people on the buy and sell side who were all happy about the experience. For me the dealer wound up buying my truck out of the lease and I wound up almost breaking even- they gave me so much for the trade in it was not worth trying to swap it. Talk to the dealer and see what they are willing to give you for the car (obviously check your buyout amount).

Keep the Boxster. The LS would serve as a family hauler.

The RX is the definition of a family vehicle!

(I just picked up a Carrera 2S - it's a lot of fun)

I really thought about keeping it but since the RX has become my work car (always cluttered with stuff) and the LS is too nice to mess up I need a car that can transport all of the baby stuff, take the wear and tear of a child and have a car seat in it all of the time. Also, with a child on the way I will never end up driving the boxster so I am pretty much paying for nothing.

I will say that it will be tough parting with it though!

Congrats on the little one - GL on getting out of the lease. Hopefully the dealer will be able to give you a good enough deal to make it worth your while. Otherwise I suppose you can try and sell it and pay it off now since it is prime roadster season...

Your LexASS is too nice to mess up, but a W211 is OK to mess up?

Your logic fails me.

Sorry about that, I didn't mean to insult the W211 because it is awesome! It is a great car but it will mainly be my wife's so I don't mind as much (the LS is mine).

Look in this thread.
It looks like OP was in a similar situation and could get rid of a lease very simple.

Huh, a broker did it from what I gathered. I wonder what kind of broker. I never heard of this but it did sound easy.

I can tell you have not driven a E 63 AMG. I think momma and baby deserve to be in a quiet comfortable luxo cruiser LS460 women love that self park thing. and baby will be happy with the side sun shades. They are after all the most important people in your life. Next question do real men drive RXs? I must agree with a former poster, in that we can't really see need to sell the Boxter when you only have 1.5 years left.
