Warranty expiration w/ no Explanation
I bought a used '05 e320 not too long ago, it came with 23k and I felt good knowing that it was still under factory warranty..HOWEVER the original purchasing date was DEC 30, 2004, which means that the factory warranty should last till DEC 30 2008 or 50k, correct? Well i just got my car back from the 26k service, and on my sheet it says DEL DATE: DEC 30 2004, and warranty expiration date FEB 2008!?!? What is going on, is there a loop hole i dont know about or is this delear trying to pull as fast one on me so that i purchase the extended warranty?

It has nothing to do with the build date. Go to your dealership and get a VMI print of your car and you can see the service start date. Make sure that the warranty terms is still 4/50K and then talk to the SA. If he can't help you call MBUSA and have them fix it.

Just a problem with the dealer software... nobody could explain it to me either. I've seen that where it worked the other way around and showed that the warranty was longer than it should be. The VMI, which would be printed when you had service done, is the ONLY document to trust.

Yeah to me it just doesnt make much sense, how could an '05 be released in february of '04 anyway? if the warranty is to end feb 08, that means the car should have been purchased feb 04, don't new models come out mid-year?
