Hello everyone I have a question for a friend of mine who owns 2003 E320. He complains about the wining noise that the 6 cylinder engine puts out is that normal for V-6's??? I own a CL 55 AMG and I have never expierienced a loud wining noise. Thanks a million for your help.

A function and noise check on the steering system should be performed including the power steering pump. Bulletin S-B-46.25/37 A comprehensive Star Diagnostic Guide including all bulletins’ repair information was posted JUL06 for power steering system complaints (i.e.: noises).
Non-warranty:
Note that small fluid level shortages are sufficient to cause the pump to take in air or foaming fluid, which then produces noises. Check the fluid level in the reservoir and even if only slighter lower correct and reassess.
