Question How to get service records for my car?

I have been trying to get service records for my 2005 E320 CDI that I purchased about a month ago. I had no luck so far!
Went to Bay area Walnut Creek MB dealer and was told that they cannot access MB database because they are privately owned?
Called MB USA 2 weeks ago, and was told to fax a copy of the registration and a written request for service records to (201)4766213 fax number.
I did that right away and got nothing so far.
Is there an easier way?

did the dealer walnut Creek service your car? bc The SA printed out my car's service record to see when the last time the car was service. However I thinking they are you...

Normally you can't get the records due to privacy concerns. However, you should be able to get a VMI print of the work done on the car on MB's dime. All authorized dealerships have access to the VMI. It doesn't cost anything unless they charge you for a couple of sheets of paper in which case.....well you can fill in the blanks.

Walnut Creek dealler did not service the car but claimed they are unable to access VMI records, it seemed strange to me at first but now I know this is straight Well that's just another reason I hate the Dealer!
