Thumbs up thought I would introduce myself

Hey guys,

I am in Toronto and picked up my 2003 E320 about 3 weeks ago, just found this site today. I am a convert from a GMC Envoy. I don't think I will ever be able to go to anything but benz now.

Not too worried about the new E350. I don't think it will do much to my resale value down the road...

PS - Silver on black leather... love it!!

Nick,

Welcome. Care to share you dealer experience? I dont have a MB now trying to sell my beemer but planning on getting a E or CLK next year.

Not sure if I want to lease or finance? What route did you take? How was your buying process.

I bought the car in Sudbury for an excellent price, although I live in Toronto.

Sudbury Fine Cars was an amazing place to do the deal. I walked in on Thursday, gave them an offer (fairly low for a brand new 2003 car in October) - and drove it away Friday. If you decide to go up, talk to George or Ron and tell them Nick sent you. They will treat you very good. They were practically begging me to take a car for a test drive.

I find that the bigger dealers (Toronto, and Ottawa etc. I would presume) - do so much volume they don't really care to deal. The best they would give me up here was MSRP, and I was lucky to get a hat.

I didn't lease or finance, just paid cash. The easiest way to buy a car in my opinion.

that's if you have that kind of cash! Rather than getting the usual car finance at %9 or %10 I took it out on my mortgage. It's like borrowing money for home renovations. Pay of a low monthly installment over 15 years at home loan rates, that's about %6 down under. I guess it all depends on what you can afford.

I agree. If you can get a good rate and invest the cash it is a better option.

I just felt that if I dumped the money in the markets, or say a GIC at 3% - it was not really worth my trouble for the $1000 or so I would save over the term.

All this, and I am an investment advisor to boot
