Confirmation of Build date?

I was wondering if there is some evidence that a dealer has an allocation and a build date for a car I ordered. In 2001 I ordered a W210 E430 4matic and it took more than six months to get it. I did not want to do this again when I ordered a W211 E550 4matic now. I have two dealers telling me they have a build date, but each of them cannot see the other's order on the Netstar system.

One of them said to ask for the Baumeister printout. DOes anyone have any idea what that is or how to cofirm that what either of these guys is tellig me is true?

Thanks.

I ordered a E550 july 11th. A week later, I had a netstar print out of my car with PO # and about 30 days later I even had a VIN #.

Another dealer I was going to to compete on price, was able to tell that a similar car to mine was destined for my dealership. So they can see them.

6 months?!? No way. If you order a W211 now, 90 days MAX to delivery. If anyone tells you otherwise, they're blowing hot air.

Is this true for the E550 4MATICs as well as regular E550s?

depends on what status the car is in, sometimes the dealer cannot see another dealer's car.

YES!! Just key in the VIN NO. from this web-site and you can check the exact date that your vehicle was build. http://www.mbclub.ru/mb/vin/?lng=eng

I don't see why it would be any different.

I don't know if that works in the case of a newly built vehicle. I just put in my VIN # for my car, and it doesn't have any info on it.
