C32 AMG vs. E320 (2003 models)

Just wondering if people could give me their input on this matter. I'm torn between the two cars.

On one hand, the C32 has such power & performance capabilities; on the other hand, you have the spaciousness & classical feel of the E320. I've read about problems that some C32 owners have had with their cars, and it has me questioning the reliability of such a high performance car. Then there are the questions I have regarding a brand new model car, seeing as that is what I would be getting into with the new E320.

So I guess I'd just to get others opinions on which car they would choose, seeing as price is pretty well even (after I've added all the options I wanted on both cars).....

If I were you, I would get the new E320, it's a all new model, and it's super comfortable.

I do not feel comfortable in C, so I have no choice. If you do, then probably C. Less power can be annoying.

2004 E500
C32 is performance all the way, but the E500 has both performance and comfort... plus it's more spacious. If you strictly want kills, go for the AMG; otherwise I would think the E320 (or my vote, the E500) would be better for an overall car.

95AccordV6: I have no doubts about the comfort....I've sat in both cars & test driven the E....would like to compare to the C32, but there aren't any around to be test driven....but, while you feel that it being a brand new car is a good thing, you might wanna check another poster who would beg to differ....

Dema: The power is something very enticing

MadMan: Well, comparing the E320 and the C32 because, price wise after options I would want, they're about even....of course, if I could afford the E500, that would be another story....

I look at both the C32 and the E500 and ended up with the E500.

The C32 is a GREAT car and has it all -- performance, 0 -60 in 5 seconds, looks, AMG style and 911 performance with a back seat. However, at 38 yo, i felt too old to be in a C class, no matter how fast, and the E was a completely new body style.

The E500 is also a GREAT car but even with the V8 and all of the other good stuff, it isnt even close to the C32, the lowest end of the AMG line.

If you want ultra high performance, go C32, if you want an all around performer, go for the E500 or if you have the $$s, the E55!! You likely wont be happy with the E320 if you are really intersted in power (or racing M3s)
