Night Lights

Drove around a bit tonight; it's finally getting dry (until tomorrow). Car definitely pulls to the right. No left rear reading light. Still the lights in the front look nice...

(Not a perfect picture, but it's late.)

Ooohhh, aahhhh... this car looks great at night! The gauges look sharply defined and the aura is really cool with the different colors...

Juke-box,

The lights around the gearshift are reflections on the wood. The red and blue ones are of the AVS (one red is actually there -- the gear indicator). I turned on cooling on the driver's side and heating on the passenger side. The three switches at the rear of the gearshift (ADC, etc.) were not on.

The idea for the picture came to me while talking in a bar after the short drive on the freeway to check my alignment. After three large glasses of Grey Goose L'Orange, well, the final product was not as good as it could have been. I may try again later.

Where is red zone on the tachometer? Or no red zone for E500?

It seems to be right at 6000 rpm, not very obvious on the pic but you can tell, look a little bit closer

Regarding the ventalation, the picture shows the upper center vent closed, and the center and side vents open. The salesperson suggested this as the upper center will tend to fog the windshield. (At least in Houston, where you need to use the A/C about 26 out of 28 weeks every year.) Haven't verified this yet. I like using the activated charcoal filter (jeeze, anyone old enough to remember Tareytons?) because the air in Houston sucks. It is shown lit, inbetween passenger air flow control and passenger temp increase/decrease arrows.

Regarding the circular air flow controls, there is a small hash-mark on the outer silver ring. Point it to the far-left triangle (9 o'clock position) for straight-ahead ventalation. The one at 3 o'clock is for bi-level. Twelve o'clock and 6 o'clock direct the air upward or downward respectively.

Never try Orange Goose. Ever. It's too good. And it doesn't mix well with an E500!

Juke-box,

I haven't tried to take any serious pictures because we're in the middle of a week-long rain here in Houston. I'm hoping that the wood/leather steering wheel will come before it gets sunny again and I take pictures. The charcoal interior goes better with the walnut than I thought it would. I also ordered the Zaino products yesterday and I'd like to Zaino the car before pictures. I was stupid enough to get that Perma Plate, but Zaino said it would come off with a good Dawn wash. Still, I make take a picture or two before all that if we get a pretty day. I'll be glad to post or exchange pictures. I've got a Nikon D1x, which is a professional digital camera...if I just knew what the heck I was doing I could probably get some great pics!

I've heard Zaino mentioned in posts but can someone tell me what it is? I assume it is some kind of wax or protector for the paint.
