Unhappy BATTERY/ALTERNATOR Failure - My first red screen

Hi everyone...

My 270CDI give me his first "red screen". I will share in order to know if anyone has suffer the same...

After 30km I stop in a gas station. When i start the engine again the computer give me one malfuction "Electrical Switches turn off" and after 10 seconds when i start moving the red screen appear saying:

BATTERY/ANTERNATOR failure STOP
and
SBC TURNED OFF STOP

I drive back home and stop the car for about 20 minutes.
After that I put the engine on again and no malfunction appear.!?

The i drove my car for 200 km and I stop the car. After that the car give me exaltly the same error. I did the same, wait 20 minutes and after that nothing.
I have just put the car on the garage and no error appear. This week I will take the car to Mercedes and see what is the problem.

The first malfuction "Electrical Switches turn off" sometimes appear, but since i only drive the car in my weekends to my country house, I was thinking that maybe the battery was low.

I hope that the problem is not in the Alternator...

Hope to see some help soon...

Do you understand what i write?

W211 Mercedes E-Class 270 CDI Avantgarde, from 2003

Is clear that is an E Class not a C Class.

Hey, no reason to fight, mistakes happen.

Have you had the car properly serviced, a 2003 car would have a number of recalls on charger regulator, charger SW etc. Also on SBC brakes but those should not make the low battery warning. Is your main battery in good shape? Could have suffered from the early charging issues. What is your mileage, could be normal wear on the alternator.

Hey Diesel Benz,

It's okay, i was not fighting...lol

My MB has 68900km always checked on MB Service. I suppose that all the recalls are updated. After seaching on the website www.bentleypublishers.com in the w211 page I found a pdf file with probably my problem...

This bug happend with 36ºC outside temp with the car loaded. This AF54.10-P-8030A file of MB Service saids:

"At high temperatures (more than 50 °C) in
the spare wheel well, unstable conditions can
occur for the battery control unit (BSG)."

(in attached goes the pdf.)

I suppose that is the case...maybe... Otherthing may be the battery reaching the end since the car has 4 years. I have just talked with a friend in MB Portugal and he will check the fail this week.

Let's see... Meanwhile if anyone had the same problem i like to hear it.
