Fender Rolling

Where in the San Francisco Bay Area would you recommend having my front fender rolled?

Sonic Motor sport in Santa Clara. I think they did the best for fender rolling. I did mine over there and they do a good job on it and it is not very expensive.

Increases tire clearances.

Interesting. Never heard of that. So is that little wheel actually cutting or shaving part of the fender?

Should you do this if you are putting on larger wheels...19's or 20's? and if your lowering your car?

The more I read the more I'm learning!

I have 19s and my car is lowered. I never rolled the fenders and I have ZERO rubbing.

It just bends the metal slightly. No cutting involved.

That's exactly what is happening to me. I don't rub in any other situation - only when I take a sharp right turn into a driveway or speedbump i.e. anything that causes compression.

Benz-o-rama: what offset are you running in the front? You may not rub when turning into a driveway because you run a more conservative offset. I'm running a +28 out front.

Can you post pics of the work? How much did they charge? It seems that the average price I've been finding is about $100 per corner.

Rent the fender roller

Hi,

I had the same issue with my E320 running on 19s and H&R sport springs -- each time I made sharp right turns onto driveways, the tires would rub.

Rented the tool from www.rollyourfender.com -- $250 deposit refunded back. $50 rental + shipping. That's better than $100 per corner. It was easy to use. Just like the instructions on the site says. Now I have no more rubbing issues.

Tbone,

I had my car lowered by Sonic MotorSports in Santa Clara, Cali, and I believe I paid $25.00 per side to roll the rear. I am running 275/35R18's on the rear and keeping in mind the car automatically lowers above 60(?)I wanted to prevent rubbing especially with people in the back. Darwin is the guy to ask for if you are in the area. I cna post pix if needed...PM me

Did you roll the front fenders? I only need my passenger-side front fender rolled. Is it also $25 for the front?

Thanks
