E-550 Sport questions

Does the 550 have permanent daytime driving lights? My insurance company will want to know.

I know the transmission (5 speed 4-matic on mine) is adaptive but does the ECU for other functions respond to my driving style? I bring this up due to the other discussion on resetting the ECU. If the ECU adapts to your driving style then why would you need to reset it?

One more question: does the ECU control the transmission and all other functions or is the control unit for the transmission a separate unit from the engine functions ECU?

Not sure about all of the years but the 07 does have Daytime Rrunning Lamp mode.

I don't have an answer for the ECU... we have 1,700 miles on our car and I haven't had any complaints with the responsiveness and have also seen some of the other threads on resetting but haven't personally found a need to do so.

You set the headlights to "On" using the steering wheel controls in the Settings Screen. (Not the light switch.) They will be on whenever the car is running.

E-550

Thanks. When the headlights are set for "on" for daytime driving are they the same as using the low beams or are they a separate light specific to daytime driving?

Normally when the insurance company inputs your VIN any/all relevant safety features will automatically be recognized/applied.
