Stupid COMMAND Question
How do I turn on the COMMAND without having the audio go on? 
If the unit is off, I hit the MAP button and music goes on...whatever I had listened to previously - even if I turned the POWER off the time before.
Sometimes I just want the map on without music and I don't want to have to hit mute to do it.

Why not turn Comand on and mute the audio. This would not mute the Navi. Navigation can be muted separately (can have audio on without Navi audio guidance if you wish so). Car manual explains how to do this.

This is what I do now - I just don't like the idea that the audio is still "on".

I will do this since I don't have anything setup in aux. Thanks. Would have been nice if the system allowed you to turn "off" the music.

"Comand" is not the name for the NAV or Map display screens. It is the name for the Head unit. Which can display any data/entertainment items connected to it.
Many times people will say "My comand volume is low" That means all of the audio options fed thru the head unit are low, not just the NAV volume. Sort of like saying "My dash says" when you mean "My Tachometer says..."
Nitpicking in semantics to be sure, but just to clarify.
