idle problem

Hi guys,

I'm new to that forum but want to start w/ a question:

I have a W211 E500 M113 and the car idles a bit strange. The engine is shaking and w/ the air intake removed (just open Air Mass sensor) I hear a plopping sound.

Went to a friend who has a STAR diag and we found out that cyl#2 is not running smoothly. He said it must be an ignition problem so I replaced the ignition coil pack for cyl#2 and the leads and the spark plugs but the issue still exists.

Tomorrow I will check for compression to see if it is a mechanic problem but from my feeling it must be ignition or maybe fuel.

The STAR diag showed no bad issues so I'm a bit confused what else to look at.

Anyone ever had this issue ?

Thanks !

Christian

Fuel Injectors can cause combustion missfire.swop injectors 1and 2 and see if the missfire moves to cyl#1.

I don't really have any input but you have NOOOOO idea how lucky you are to have friend with an SDS machine. Man, do you live near Washington,DC? I see a potential business venture.
