Mud Guard pictures

Anyone order the mud guards with their E? I am considering - always raining/snowing here.

Pics?

Thanks,

Smash

I'm considering doing the same.

I bought them online and installed them myself last weekend. Took about an hour, probably could have shaved that in half but I gave the wheels and tires a good scrubbing while I had them off. Don't have any pics, but like the way they look, and hopefully they'll keep some road tar off my white Bluetec.

Do a search for mudflaps or mudguards. There are several pictures posted.

So is this as simple as removing the wheels and bolting the mudflaps to the wheel well? Or is there more to it?

That's all it takes. It takes longer to jack the car up and take the wheel off than to install the mudflaps.

Detailed instructions are included, but basically remove a nut or two, take out the plastic fasteners and put in a self tapping screw. You'll need either an 8 or 10mm (don't remember which) pair of pliers and an electric screwdriver. It's super easy. Taking the wheels off is the hard part.

Why don't ask your sales person to throw in the mud guard?

That's what I did for my previous W211 purchases(I bought '04 W211. I kept it for an year and traded that in for '06 W211 4Matic) I bought my W211s two separate dealerships and both of them threw them in for free.

I bought, now doing it later, far away from the original dealer! But car is in now for a CV joint so thinking about having them do them.

I'll see if I can find some pics - was hoping I'd get some but guess I need to do some clicking...(sigh)

Thanks,

Smash

Good point, but I didn't want mudguards when I bought the car (and I'm still not sure I want them). I'm used to my silver C-Class where nothing really showed. Water and mud splash marks seem to show more on my black E-class. Not to mention, the tires are wider and stick out more than they did on my C, which could be leading to more splash marks. Right now, I'm leaning toward not getting them.

Where did you buy them from online? I see someone on E-bay claiming to sell MB flaps for about $180 for all four. Seems a bit high but would pay it for a oem product.

Thanks in advance

I think I paid around $110 for all four, from a dealership parts dept. in Westchester, OH that I found here on the forum. Shipping was around $8 and of course no tax. I didn't want to pay the $70/hr labor and have to waste the travel time to the dealer.
