Help! rubbing/belching noise when turning wheel
hi everyone! my '05 w211 CDI makes some sort of a "rubbing" or "belching" noise when i make a sharp turn to the wheel to the right or left, e.g. when parking the car in a spot or doing a u-turn. This only started happening over the past month or so and has increased in frequency. It also typically happens after I've been driving for awhile, say 20 minutes. Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks!

The cause may be due to insufficient lubrication, check your power steering fluid level. If all seems fine, take it in.

The sounds is made only when i turn the wheel to the LEFT (making a sharp left turn at slow speeds, like pulling into a parking spot). Makes the sounds ~50% of the time. I'm going to go check the fluid level and will keep you posted!

hi konigstiger ...
quick update here: I took the w211 to the dealer and made him aware of his problem. He came back and said that the power steering fluid level -- as you pointed out -- needed to be topped off. He topped it off (no charge), I thanked him, and was on my way!
A day after he topped it off, the sound came back. It's not as consistent as it was before, but maybe it's also due to the fact that I'm not driving 70 miles one-way anymore? Also, do you think this could be a BRAKE issue???

HUMMING noise revisited
hey guys,
ok, so i took my e320 cdi to the dealer to look into a "humming" noise that is made when i turn my steering wheel to the LEFT while driving very slowly, e.g. parking in a parking spot. Dealer said is was a steering fluid issue, which he topped off. But the noise is still there, but not happening as much as it was before.
Any clue, guys, as to what this could be?

It may be due to the power steering/radiator line/hose contacting the chassis or any engine components.
Also, request that they properly bleed the system - mention DTB P-B-46.30/40.
