What is the first service?

I bought my car on 4-20-07 with no miles on it. Now on the screen it tells me theres some sort of service that needs to be done in like 10 days or something, im not sure what service it is but i was wondering if anyone had any idea of what im talking about. If so, can you inform me on a price range, and what needs to be done. Thanks

Did they give you an owner's manual when you purchased the car? It is spelled out fairly clearly in there.

First service is a free inspection at 1,000 to 3,000 miles. The first actual service is at approximately 13,500 miles.

He's only 18, just graduated high school and that was his graduation present (discussed in another thread).

Cut him some slack. They don't teach kids to read until college these days and even then, its usually magazines so they are on the up and up on Britney's kids and Lindsay Lohan's drug addiction.

Check out this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w211/205170-pay-diagnosis-while-under-warranty.html

Most likely, the service computer was not reset to reflect the purchase date of your vehicle, hence the service "meter" has been running since build date.

Just paid $255 for my first service (SERVICE C) and the only important service was the oil change and the rest were fluid checks. They did charge me $2.50 for windshield wash and I barely even used it in the one year I had it. I also got a tire rotation and balance that was $40 but was already included in the $255. And most importantly, I brought it in filthy and came out looking new in the outside atleast. I still feel ripped off though.

There is another thread on this forum or BenzWorld where this guy talks about how they tried to charge him for the washer fluid when he purposely topped it off prior to bringing the car there.

Lastly, if the dealer washed your car, it might LOOK clean, but they've done more damage than good.

West Coast rates must be higher; I paid $124 at MB, Cherry Hill NJ, for my first service at about 500 miles from new (including oil & filter change) and they left me a new sealed gallon of windshield wash, since I had not consumed any.

Close. I really wanted to change at 500 but it was actually around 800 from new after owning the car for less than a week I am old school.
