navigation night mode?

on the navigation system is there a night mode? i'm tired of getting a sun tan from the lcd display at night. i know in my other cars the navigation system's display turns to a night mode.

also is there a way to make the system display the direction you are going towards vs always showing north?

Yes. I don't have my manual at work, but I believe its in the Soft Keys under display.

The choice for illuminations are Automatic, Day, Night. Set it to Automatic.
Also set the diaplay to Heading Up as opposed to North on top or something like that.

barry thanks i'll play around with it. i also need to figure out how to change the map from displaying north all the time.
