The 2 items in the picture next to "resonators, deleted" are actually your rear cats.

The other component with 2 pipes in, 2 pipes out is actually your resonator.

Removing the rear cats doesn't gain anything measurable unless you have some other significant mods. Removing the resonator will make the exhaust louder.

The exhaust still needs to have a "x-pipe" where you remove the resonator. If you don't the the exhaust note will sound quite different and may have a small negitive impact on low end torque

Thanks for your comments.... So if i do straight pipie, i would increase sound, but decrease HP ? Just wondering, whats the diff between having a X straight pipe, and just having them straight...

It's my understanding that removing the cats and resonator (x-pipe) will increase the sound. But you're gonna lose some low end torque. The good news is you'll make it up in top end horsepower.

This is the reason why I want to get an ECU tune. You will gain abut 25 rwtq, plus and additional 25 rwhp. Most of the tuners like Powerchip, can tailor the tune for what you're looking for.

Take a look at this:

Placing an "X-pipe" in the exhaust system was first used in Nascar... Before that, most systems had straight pipes or an H crossover(a straight pipe joining the two sides.) The X pipe helps to scavenge the exhaust better than the previous designs because you have a more direct flow rather than the 90degree bends in the H design. The further to the rear that the crossover is, the better torque you will generate. Most "race" aftermarket X pipes have the X crossover closer to the manifolds to promote horsepower gain. The problem is that you run out of space where the transmission is.

Also, an X pipe generates a more exotic sound.....

The previous posts were correct about the resonator/cat location.
