E320 + 18" Staggered Setup = Does anyone get even tire wear?
I've read about as many tire pressure threads as I can find here, but I have yet to find someone with my setup (E320 w/ staggered 18" wheels) who's getting even tire wear.
My door sticker says 26-27 front and 32-33 back if I remember correctly.
The guy who put the rims/tires on the car had them at max tire pressure (45 psi ). I dropped it to 35 psi before I even sat down in the car...but even then, I thought the ride was more like a lumber wagon than a luxury car.
I dropped the pressure to 26/32 last night and the car rides soooo much better. The only thing is, the tires look a bit flat...then again, we are talking about 40 & 35 series tires, so eyeballing them is kind of pointless.
Anyways, I don't care about understeer or performance driving. I just want even tread wear and a decent ride.
Anyone?

I got 18" staggered and just checked mine, 29front and 33rear. That is cold PSI. The car also has an alignment. I get even tread wear on the fronts and the backs are wearing more in the center, which means they are over inflated.

I pretty much stick to the gas door placard for inflation pressure. Other than hearing the tires "slap" each crack/imperfection/heavilly lined crosswalk in the pavement, the ride is Sporty/Firm but nice... and I keep my air suspension at "Level 1" (One indicator light on).
I'm waiting to see what tire life is. I've only got 7100 miles on the car.

I just saw you did your tint at 35% and I'm assuming your car is black from your signature. I've always done 20% on my cars, but am thinking of going a little lighter due to the damned auto dimming rear view mirror. How's the 35% working out for you?
