Post Costco

Has anybody ever bought through the costco or sams club auto program? My dad is looking to buy a new car and through the costco program it's a great deal, I think.
E500
E3,E5
Disctronic, Parktronic
Power rear shade, side shade
Nav
Panoramic roof
solar panel
harman kardon sound system
power trunk closer
keyless go
split folding rear seat.

MSRP total comes to $71595
Invoice at $66702

This just a car that i made when i was bored. Please tell me which features are useless.

Also, is it better to purchase through a program like this or to go directly to the dealer?

Thanks Much

By my calculation, MSRP should be about $69850.

E500 - $54850
E3,E5 - $1375, $875
Disctronic, Parktronic - $2950, $1035
Power rear shade, side shade - $440, $320
Nav - $1625 ($500 off promotion)
Panoramic roof - $1500
solar panel - $925
harman kardon sound system - $700
power trunk closer - $475
keyless go -$1015
split folding rear seat. - $100 (launch promotion, not E4)
destination - $665

Need to add in GG tax = $1000.

Invoice pricing should be around $65100. Check out the source of pricing at http://www.qesonline.com/personal/03ECLASS.

What is the costco price? I tried doing this, and I got a message, no participating dealer available in our area.

I've purchased a couple of cars with the Costco auto program. It is really very simple. They give you a specific person or two to contact at the dealership. Once you decide what you want, they show you this official looking spec sheet that will list the deal for their various models. i.e., it may say 2003 ML's at $2,000 below MSRP or 2003 ML's at $1500 above invoice. In any case, it is a fixed price and avoids the need for any negotiations. Some cars may be excluded, probably a brand new model for at least a few months and some of the more exotic cars (like a CL600). I've been told, that across the board, the Costco program is a pretty good no hassle deal but if you enjoy hard negotiating and are good at it, you can probably do better. The last sentence may not apply to MB.

yea, we were gonna get our 2002 camry v6 on the program, but we said the price wasn't good enough, it was 800 over invoice, so we wanted to negociate, and we got it under invoice

Thanks for the info. Has anybody tried from Sams Club? Also, how flexible are salespeople in general about negotiating prices through these programs.

You are sort of agreeing not to negotiate by using one of these programs. That isn't to say you can't. Also, I've definately known of people who got the Costco price at one dealer and called another one across town and said dealer X is giving me the car for $$ and I'll give you the order if you can beat it.

If you find negotiating unpleasant, as most do, this is a pretty easy way to go and if you do the 2 dealer approach you can alost effortlessly do a little negotiation that way.

dont think this car is availible through costco program yet.....i believe they ussually wait till the demand dies down a little before they put it on there. i know cl's, sl's, clk cabs are not availble either. but i might be wrong.
