Hi,

I do not remember without actually looking at the system but while in Radio mode press the softbutton at the bottom right, or the softbutton bottom left. One of them has settings for RDS. There are three i think. Plus there is an additional setting which is for Traffic announcements i think.

Have to be at the COMAND console to be sure but hope this helps.

On the W221, they call RDS off as "Frequency fix", perhaps you can find something similar from your car.

RDS is sort of assumed to be always on unless fixed frequency was selected, e.g. if the same channel sometimes broadcasts local content, like local news.

With your radio on, hit the bottom left soft key that says "SETTING"

You'll have 3 options to choose from:

"Standard RDS"
"RDS with Reg. Set."
"RDS OFF"

My problem is keeping the RDS on. It seems like I always have to turn the RDS on whenever I use my radio.

Radio Data System. When transmitted along with the audio portion of a stations programming to a specially equipped (RDS) car radio, the radio will display whatever message the station is sending... usually the Song title and the artist along with the station's slogan. For instance:
Light My Fire - The Doors - WXYZ 101.1 - We Play More Music...

Click on Audio then go to Radio where you will find the setting display, just click on it therefore you will find the RDS just click on it..

With the radio on, the bottom left button says " AUTOSTATION" not Settings.
