Cost of clear bra

One of the members in CO mentioned a place to get clear bras applied so I called to compare prices. They seemed very knowledgeable, do a lot of high end cars, and even knew the MB dealer guy who would do the work at the dealer and said he would do a good job. But, the difference in cost is $400 so I'll go there after taking delivery of the car. I was surprised at the difference - $300 vs. $700 for the same product and coverage.

Depends on how high up on the hood you want to go, they each charge different amounts because of that and also they use different material. I researched this a few years ago but I forget which film (maybe 3m?) was the best thing to use.

Are you just doing the front spoiler or also hood and how far up the hood if so?

Bra

I tried to quote same thing with both based on my 01 E-Class which this dealer did. Both mirrors, leading edge of hood (est. 6-8 inches) and any wrap around painted surface that was not metal. Did not do bumper. The after market place includes headlights as well. They both use 3M. After 6 yrs. on the 01 it was still hard to see the bra so the dealer did a good job at that time. $400 difference gets my attention though.

The $300 vs $700 is very odd, see if it is the same exact material and is one place maybe less busy as the other? I found a very inexpensive place because the guy does it at his house, no overhead, no tax etc... but yeah huge difference, makes me wonder which one is the right to choose.

bra

I'm a 100 miles away or I would just go by and ask both places in person. Last time I was there this was not an issue so didn't look into it. Does seem like a big difference. Will do some more checking. Thanks for ringing the bell a little louder.
