Noise and low quality in Bluetooth!!!
My wife was complaining that people couldn't hear her properly, using the MB BT puck and a Blackbery 8300. The tech guy at MB found that the air deflectors were pointing directly at the bottom of the mirror, where the microphone is, causing noise and distortion. Think about the football announcers or weather people holding the microphone and the wind causes noise. I'll evaluate their fix soon, which was just re-directing the vents.

My service advisor suggested that I manually set the fan to its lowest setting when I use the phone. It does help, as does having the windows and sunroof closed. The microphone doesn't like a breeze. Everybody I talk to from the car asks if I am calling from inside a cave or from the bottom of a well.

It's true with any - in car speaker phone device. You pretty much have to close all windows, turn off the air and anything else and make it dead quiet.
I had similar issues with my Audi, prior to that it was the OnStar calling where you had to say the number and all you got back was "pardon...pardon....pardon...." until you screamed obsenities at the phone and it said "Cancelling".
