Nav Command install
I'm picking up an '03 E55 on Monday and it doesn't have a NAv unit!
I was wondering if you can add a NAv display and a nav computer in the trunk and be in business?
If not what other components would I require?
HAs anyone actually done this added an OEM nav unit aftermarket?

It's my understanding that I'll need a command unit in the dash because the car only has the small display and a dvd nav unit in the truck for the dvd's.
Is there a command unit that is self contained and does not require a trunk mounted nav unit?

In 2003 MB had a problem supplying cars with the promised Head Unit and Nav. Many people were promised the units would be installed when MB had a "cure for the problem", but were paying for cars without them. These cars are a mixed bag as to their content and ability to easilly install a NAV. There are people here who can do it without regard to the way the car was shipped or equipped... its all a matter of how much its worth to you to have it done.

PM me and I can tell you more about it. I had to go through same thing on my 2003 E500 and it is definitely doable. The answer to your question is that you CANNOT get a self-contained COMAND unit with intergrated NAV system.
