'05 E500 Drive
Just bought an '05 E500 this past Wed. and was able to spend some time with her today. I'd like to post this so others researching the car may find this somewhat informative.
'05 E500
32K miles
Premium Package (Dynamic/Pulse Seats, Harmon Kardon 6 disc, Navi)
Heated Front Seats
Lighting Package (Bi-Xenons with headlight washers).
AMG Sport Package (Staggered 18" AMG rims, AMG dual exhaust, AMG body kit).
My first Benz. I think its more of a jumbo jet than a car. Its a technological wonder.
As expected, fit and finish is solid and magnificent. The engine is fantastic. 302 hp @ 5,600 rpm and 339lb-ft. torque @ 2,700 is what gets this super sedan up and moving in a hurry.
Turning circle is simply amazing!
13" 4 piston calipers up front are excellent. (11.8" single piston in the rear).
Seats are sumptuous and extremely comfortable. Dynamic seats are awesome! I found the massage function distracting, but the front passenger loves it!
Deep trunk space.
I do have a shimmy around 60 mph (sometimes) and I hear a clicking sound from the seats, (I don't think its the rail as some have stated, bec. the clicking occurs once the car has started and is consistent every few seconds). Dealer should rectify these issues.
I'm very pleased with the purchase. So far, the car is simply astounding, as is to be expected of a world class sedan. Nice to see the three pointed star on the hood from the drivers seat.
Always read about MB, BMW, Jaguar, ever since I was a kid. Now I own one.
Thank you all for your help as I did much research/questions on this forum before my purchase. Attached are a few pics. Take care!

Nice car. You'll love driving it for sure. Be sure to keep an extended warranty once the original runs out, and heed any malfunction warnings that come up on the display if they appear. I found this online manual to be quite helpful if you need it:

What is the badge on the right rear? Welcome to the board.

Nice ride! I'm going to the same dealer this time next year to pick up a 07 E-350 cpo when my c-class lease is up. Were the good to deal with? I'm on Staten Island and new to the area so I'm not familiar with the other dealers around. I've just seen that one advertised.

Congratulations! I am in the same boat (always read about these cars, now finally own one). I've only owned it for about 2 months now, but every time I drive it, I appreciate it more and more. Good luck and welcome!

I've had my 2003 E320 for a year now (bought Certified Pre-owned) and still love the car. My wife thinks I have a problem because every once in a while I'll just come out and say "I love my car".
It's my first MB, and I am currently 100% sure that my next car will be an E550.
Enjoy yours!

Thank you all for the kind words and welcoming to the MB club!!
Scambo: Tks. for the link! cool site!
Rainman15: Rallye Motors were great. I didn't haggle - their price was below KBB, Edmunds, and NADA. During my first test drive, I popped the hood and noted a water leak from the radiator area. The GM said they'd look at it. A few days later before signing, I took her for a second drive, and the leak was gone.
I found my E500 on cars.com. Rallye Motors always shows a photo of the VIN plate which is cool, bec. I had determined what I wanted and the plate provides the info. I was interested in (thanks to this forum):
1) Build date > 09/03 (to avoid possible bad Valeo radiator issue)
2) "C" before the paint code for the nano clear coat.
3) "Made in Germany" statement.
Besides Rallye, there is MB of Manhattan, Smithtown, Nanuet, Massapequa, and Rockville Center. (I'm sure there are more).
Thanks everybody again!
