03 E320 Parking Light
03 E320 Parking Light
The right front side parking light on my car is burned out. I can't figure out how to get the bulb out in order to change it. The owner's manual says to remove the lens cover but does not tell you how. Does anyone know how to do this?

I thought he was talking about the side marker lamps, on the bumper.
I don't have those but I remember a comment from one who installed clear side markers, could search for a post. I believe the "just pop out" but it would probably be useful to know where to start.

Note the picture of the bumper light.
You'll need to CAREFULLY use a small flat head screwdriver and push the clip in to release the light. You can also wrap the screwdriver with a towel to prevent denting the bumper strip.
The clip will be towards the door.

Parking Lights...AGAIN!
The parking lights on my E320 have burned out a couple of times in just a few months. Most recently it was not even 2 weeks. At first I did not think much about this, but now I'm wondering what's going on? I seem to remember reading something a while back that said the programming for the voltage on these cars was off and that could cause bulbs to burn out prematurely. Does anyone know anything about this or is anyone have the same problem? My car is an 03.

There is a bulletin about bulbs burning, this is for a car with halogen main lights, it looks like it should bother the main light bulbs, perhaps the voltage setting applies for both or then it can be off only for the parking lights. Did you only have problems with the parking lights?
My W211 cars have been with Xenons and I never had issues with the parking lights.

For the parking lights on the impact strip, I would get a narrow flathead screwdriver and wrap it up with electrical tape. Gently start tucking it under the lens in area 1 in the picture. There is a tab (#2 in the pic) that you need to press (push towards the front of the car) in order to remove the whole light assembly. Do NOT try to remove the lens, it comes out as a whole unit....its snapped on there real tight! Good luck!

edit: didn't know this post was a few days old...guess you already removed the light. oh wells

Similar "small details" are often useful even after reading the official workshop instructions.

I just replaced my parking lights but the error message refuses to disappear, I checked the socket base it appears to be ok, then I checked voltage, driver side reads constant 11.26v but the passenger side voltage fluctuates between 11.25 and 12.09v. Are they not supposed to be the same voltage, can you please help, thanks

Konigstiger| I want to thank you again and ask for your thoughts on this. the instrument cluster warning is still on, the new parking lights are 194 168 W5W except they are white instead of amber which is the OEM color. my question is why these two lights come on as soon as any door is opened? they go off in a minute or two, left one first and seconds later the right one goes off. Any ideas, thanks
