This may sound a bit naive but is it possible to connect a modified headset cable from a Nokia 6280i to the W211(Oct 03 Command Avantgarde) 6310i phone cradle.
I know the pin layout of the two phones aren't the same but all i want is to be able to answer calls from the steering wheel. I was wondering if i could splice a 6280 headset cable connector and then join the wires to the 6310 cradle female pins.
I'm thinking i can't be the only one whose tight out there and doesn't want to spend alot of money.![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)
Someone must have tried it.
What do u reckon. Any guidance appreciated.

Of course one can put a modified cable but why would you do it because the new phone would not work with the car ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
The MB kit you have would anyway recognise the phone model and would not work with a phone it hasn't been told being compatible with.
I believe your bes option is to go for a ViseeO BT interface. You would lose the external antenna and since this isn't BT SAP, the phone power consumption during calls is an issue (you may need to charge it at the car and then lose part of the BT gains).
There is a UK source for it too:
