my mom doesnt like that fact that it doesnt lock the car once were in, if we go somewhere, and its heavy traffic in the mall or something, we might not hit 9 mph until we get on a real street, and that can be 5-10 minz, and we are not going to remember to lock the car every time we get in, so we think if it locks right when er get in, it will be better overall

But think how annoying it would be if you hop in, start the car, and then have to manually unlock the doors almost every time because you started the car before everybody got in!!
At the time I decided then and there that I would NEVER have automatic door locks on a car.
The Mercedes locks do pretty well - even my paranoid wife likes them. 9 mph is pretty slow, they always lock once I'm moving at all. It is hard to stay below 9 mph even in a parking lot, unless you maybe are like pushing the car or something.
BTW, I'm pretty sure it's 9 mph or 15 kph.
I have no idea why you are concerned. I have been to your house and driven in your neighborhood before. You will hit 9 mph quite quickly, probably before you make your next turn. As far as heavy traffic, all you need to do is get rolling. I have hit 9 mph in the C32 on my DRIVEWAY, none the less a parking lot or similar.
Also consider that we do not usually go to areas that would neccessitate locking our doors at all. I think this is a petty issue you raise. Bottom line, there is no where in San Diego I can think of where you can't reach 9 mph, even in traffic. I think you underestimate just how slow it is for a car. Where exactly does your mom drive where she doesn't reach 9 mph for 5-10 minutes?
