Keyless Go Question

Got a question with the keyless go system - specifically the key not detected alert ? On my wife's E350 4matic the red alert on the dash only stays illuminated fro a few seconds (also beeping). If you were not looking at the dash and ignored the beep you could miss it - yea you guessed it it has happened to her and about 20 minutes later the car shutdown. I'm just wondering if the system is supposed to alert in that fashion or is hers acting up ?

earlier cars has a constant beep once you turn the car off and it was very very annoying. Later cars have a single beep and red screen.

I understood Sunil talking about the case the car is turned off and the key is left to the car while I understood Eddie talking about the case the car is being driven but the key leaves the car (could be wife driving without her key, the car running with your key, and you leaving the car or something like that?).

Or was it something still different

I don't have a KG car, shouldn't a warning like "key not detected" be more persistent, like going away only from a driver action?

Exactly as DB states - driving off without the key in the car - the specific scenario - go to warm up the car and then back in the house only to leave the key inside and drive off. Sunil - were you referring to leaving the key in the car ?
