Unhappy Voice Command Problem

Last week the system suddenly appeared to stop working on my 2008 E350 Sport. Pulling forward on the stalk no longer engages the sytem as it did originally. I checked the manuals (owner and command system) to see whether I inadvertantly could have turned off the function, but got no clue. Furthermore, there never was a need to turn on the function to begin with...it just worked when I pulled the stalk towards me. The car in only a few months old (5,000 miles). Any of you have any ideas before I take it into the dealership?

This should be quite easy for your local MB dealer to diagnose. And since your car is under warranty, it'll be a free fix. Of course, I'm assuming you haven't put 50K miles on your 2008.

I would suggest you have the dealer check the system for DTC (diagnostic trouble codes).

In addition, I see you did not list a VC guide, in case you do not have one here is a copy of the MY07 edition http://www.overgaardweb.com/DL-Files/VC-op-guide.pdf request a hardcopy version from your dealer.

That's the first place I looked for help, just forgot to mention it in my post. It sounds like, then, that this is not something that I inadvertantly turned off, so I'll head out to the dealership to have it checked out.

MBZ, Please tell us what the dealer found as the fault.
