rear defroster
I was driving to work this morning listening to the radio, and the windows started to get fogged up so i turned on my front and rear defroester, I noticed the radio become staticky, I turn off the front, and still no change, i turn off the rear and radio is clear. I then only turned on the rear and static came back. Anyone else have this issue with the rear defroster being on, creating static reception for radio?

Mention DTB P-B-82.60/227 gaps or interruptions in the heating conductor of the rear window defroster may cause Electromagnetic Interference on the radio. More than likely the rear window will need to be replaced.

Yes, this happened to our car also.... It was a broken antenea wire inside the rear window... The only way to fix it is to replace it. I opted to leave it alone as the structual integrity of replaced glass is never the same.

Normally DTBs are honored under initial factory or extended warranties however, you may be able to successful argue that a defective rear window was installed at production presenting a copy of the DTB allowing for MBUSA (not dealer) goodwill assistance – best scenario no out of pocket cost, PM your email address and I will forward DTB copy.
