question on lighting?

Ok situation is rather difficult for me to decifer. My GF parents own a 2005 E-500 Mercedes, and one of the burners went out. I then did some research and came up with them needing D2S burners....which I then proceeded to order for them. I then had to leave for school out of state, but when the bulbs came in....my GF called and infomed me that the they dont fit? I'm trying to solve this "blind" seeing that i'm out of state and can't try to work on it personally. My knowledge on engine components are pretty strong, but not really in the lighting department. Is my GF's father just missing something....or did I just screw up and ordered the wrong part?

here is the part number that I ordered - http://www.hidplanet.com/philips4100k.html

any help would be appreciated,
David

.... nothing to brag about, it is a previous model....
Other than OEM's 4300K, you ordered 4100K, W211 does use D2S. BUT............ is it possible that your gf's father's E500 doesn't come w/ Bi-Xenon setup?

Thats the only thing I could think of since the installation of the D2S bulb is pretty straight forward, just as with any other headlight.

well...I looked at the manual, asked a good friend, and did research on this forum. The manual stated that the low beams needed D2S's as did all other methods of research....how can I tell if they are or not equipped?

The easiest way is to ask your gf if their car has headlight washer. (just in case she doesn't know where to look)

1. Headlight washer button is right next to headlight Knob.

Or check.

2. see if there is Triangle-Looking-symbol between low-beam and high-beam light housing.
