Tire Replacement & Lease End
Hi,
I leased a 06 E350 w/sport package in 2005. My lease will be up in 10 months later. I heard that when you return the car. The tires has to be in 2/32 thread otherwsie i have to pay for whole new set. I have 27k miles on it now and I think the tires are gone most of it since it is high performance low profiles 245/35/18 and 265/40/18 in rear. I checked the price for OEM is about $280 per tire but if i go for other brand with same size could save me over $100 per tire. I was wondering can I return the car with new tire in exact same size but in different brand?
How did you guys do in lease end for replacement tire? Any comments is very apprecaited.
Thanks.

I read that you may have to go with OEMs. Not sure on that. Doublecheck your requirements. Continental tires usually are the cheapest of the OEMs. HTH
