2003 E320

I just purchased a 2003 e320 with 41000 miles and purchased 2 year extra star mark warranty, upto 100,000 miles. can i change the transmission fluid now at another mercedes shop (MA AND PA shop) but he only deals with mercedes cars. Would it hurt anything at all even the warranty. I like to do the oil changes often. What other replacements should i be looking for. We love the car and we want to keep it for long time. What are the recommended services..thank you.

You should be okay ...

but make sure your independent mechanic uses only the filter and transmission fluid Mercedes specifys for that car. A lot of guys want to cut corners because the MB fluid is expensive. Read your warantee agreement just to be sure. As far as motor oil, just use an MB filter and whatever oil they specify. Probably a Mobil synthetic. Keep your records and make sure your mechanic can reset the maintenance alerting system to reflect what is done.
