2006 E55
Wow! Straight-piped my '06 E55, sounds awesome, but now need help.....

........well, the local high performance shop didnt have any mufflers in stock to try out on the E55 so I told them to take the AMG mufflers off, and the 2 rear cats and straight pipe it out the rear.

I cannot tell you how badass this car sounds right now, it turns heads EVERYWHERE! BUT, the big problem is, at 70 mph it tachs at 1800 rpm which is a sweet spot for some drone, and I have a hard time hearing on the cell phone in that 400 rpm sweet spot.

So, with that said, does anyone have a muffler recommendation that I can put back onto the car that sounds good at wide open throttle and a little bit louder than stock? Not bothersome loud, but a little more than stock, but not a $2500 muffler set either.

Anyone tried Corsa? Borla? Any of those? Any suggestions appreciated......

If you like the sound now but want to get rid of the resonance perhaps a resonator would do the trick.

I had good luck with Magnaflow mufflers in the past if you decide to have some mufflers welded in.

I've had Corsa Indy catback exhaust for my Vette before and it was great with no resonance or droning during highway speeds. Didn't know they made them for MBs though?
