Anybody know any good mechanics for buying a used Benz
Hey Guys.
Im getting rid of my 1997 E420. Im trying to buy a 2004 E320 it has about 50,000 Miles. I have a couple of questions
-is 2004 more reliable than a 2003 e320?
-Also why is the used benz e500 cheaper than the e320. Im looking around at all the used cars and it seems that the e500 are usually cheaper?
-What are the common problems in W211's? to look out for?
-Is www.carchex.com? or does anyone know any good mechanics>?
sorry for all the questions. Im planning to buy my car next week. I need all the info!

I did notice recently used E500 is about the same price as E320 as well. I think "gasoline" price might have the effect on their price.
As for a good mechanic? I only recommend whoever buying a used car take the car back to the dealer for full inspection and check up - if from private party. (usually $250~$350) It will be the cheapest but the best investment when shopping for a used Mercedes.
I generally don't trust carfax or those service. I had a 97 E420 before, buyer found perfect record via carfax when he decided to buy my car. ( I had $3500 rear-end damaged by a young kid who can't hold his brake. ) I did, however, inform the buyer about the repair job.
