Vibration problem at ~90km/h on 05 E500
When I bought the car 4 months ago it was perfect. No vibration. Over time it started vibrating at around 95KM/h.
When I bought my winter tires (2 months ago) my local shop that installed the tires said that I have a somewhat significant ding in one of my rims and few smaller ones. He tried "fixing" smaller ones, but said that for the bigger ding he would need to send a rim to a proper shop.
Since then the vibration got worse. I guess it's from the potholes. Tires are 245-45-17.
I am debating should I go and buy new set of rims. Also if I do, can I still use this old set of crooked rims as winter rims. My friend claims that if I continue using these rims that cause vibration (providing that's the cause) I could destroy ball joints and what not.
Any opinions, should I get new rims? Can I continue using old rims as winter set? Is it possible to fix the bent rim?
Thanks,
Sometimes, a great tire shop can carefully balance a wheel, but I wouldn't try much more than that.

Thanks,
I was just getting ready to cough up ~$600 for new set of rims but I am having second thoughts now. Ride back was really pleasant.
I don't understand how. I was sure it was the rims.
