No rear leg room
That is how they get you to buy the S series or BMW 700 series. Try the new Accura RL and you will find a car that is so small it will go down as a big strategic error. The RL has been Acura's S and 700 series model!

I only sat in the back seat once (and that was when I wanted to hear what the stereo sounded like). BTW, I think that the system sounds great in the front, but not so good if you are sitting in the back seat.
But anyway, my father (who is 5'5) said that the way that the seat support/tracks are, you have to raise your food when you either want to cross your feet or uncross them. He has small feet so I don't know if there was much validity to it. I wear a size 11 so I will give it a try. Leg room for either of my parents was not an issue.
Two of my friends are 6'2 (as was my recent ex-girlfriend) and they had no problems in the back seat. However, like it was mentioned, if you have a long torso, then you might have headroom problems. I am 5'8 and I must say that it is nice to fit everywhere I go! Plus rear passengers usually sit behind my seat since I tend to be the shortest of all my friends. The E is a great size car for me!

I agree that the W211 may not have the biggest space for rear passengers. It's similar to the current 5-series except that the 5 has more head room in the rear IMHO.
I do think the size is just adequate for a medium sized sedan. I'm 6'3" and I've had a 6' person sit behind me comfortably for short distance driving, although I had to move my seat forward from my normal position.
I would love it if MB could add another 3-4 inches for the rear leg room and 1 inch for the head room.

Nah, it’s just me and my wife. Occasionally our two young adult daughters will accompany us to dinner but they never complained – even with the driver seat in its furthest most rear position.
