Looking for some options for an 05 06 CDI. Need to be as light or lighter than stock 16's with the tires. Don't want to loose MPG. These will be summer tire setup and I will use the stock 16's with winter tires for the winter. I love the new AMG E63 rims but they don't look like they have a lip on the rear rims. I would like to have a 2 or 3" lip for the rear for a more aggressive stance.

Also your advice on rim diameter. I see alot of people going to 19's and 20's but I put on 40K miles per year for work and I need to maintain a good ride quality. Should I stick to 18's? I don't mind a little stiffer ride but it still has to be comfortable.

Will be interesting to see the responses. For some unknown reason MB does not recommend any of their own 17 or 18" wheels for the US version of the CDI with the standard suspension. Still trying to figure out why.

I have 18 inch E55 AMG rims on my '05 CDI without any problems. My service tech said only they 'look nice'. People have also been using the 18" CLS wheels which have a greater offset and set out a bit more.

+1 on the 18 inch CLS wheels.

I have them on my car and they look very nice and drive perfectly. I recall a couple of folks here with the CDI have also used them without any complaints.
