05 CDI Power Loss

No turbo cut in. 75,000 miles. It has happened a couple of times and sometimes resets with engine turn-off. I suspect the EGR valve. Konigstiger has posted a DTB. Car is still under extended warranty. Bringing it in today. The same thing happened to my wife's 05 CDI at 21,000 miles. How many others have had this failure? Should we bring a class action and get some future relief, similar to the SBC 10 year warranty? Thoughts please.

Sounds like the typical EGR valve problem. Mine went out at 25k, like your wife's. I guess you were living right (or using better fuel) not having the problem until 75k! My SA told me that the replacement valves are 'improved.'

EGR it was!!!!

See Konigstiger posts re: EGR. The new part is an upgraded part. We'll see how long it lasts. Covered under my extended warranty, but I would really protest if I wasn't under warranty, as this valve has shown a worldwide failure rate way above what it should be. The old part number is 6461400960. The new part is 6461401960 I would suggest that anyone with the old part number get it replaced, at MB expense, before, and it will, it fails. I think the labor is around 3 hours plus the part cost.
