The only way you can control the iPod is through the buttons on the steering wheel.

GSTATUS, your iPod should have come with an instruction manual. But, here's the skinny :-)

Phone down: menu move-up
Phone up: enter
Arrow up: previous
Arrow down: next

So, if you're playing a song, press phone up to bring up the menu. It will display "Shuffle Songs" by default. Then, press the down arrow to move from from shuffle songs to playlists, albums, artists, etc. Press phone down to select what you want (lets say albums) and again arrow down to scroll through your albums. Once you get to the one you want to listen to, press phone down to select it. The first song will start playing. Press the down arrow to advance to the next song. You can also press phone up (menu move-up) to move "out" of that album into the list of albums and find another another one. Unfortunately, after a little while of listening to a song, the system loses it's memory so if you press phone up, rather than getting out of the album you are in, it takes you back to the beginning (Shuffle Songs) and you have to start all over.

Yes, MB iPod SUX THE BIG ONE. So do the nav and Comand. But, that's a whole different post!
