2003 E-320
Transmission "Bucks"
Hello everybody,
I have a 2003 E320 (48K miles), and it has a strange problem. On two occasions in the last few weeks, at slow speeds (just starting off) the transmission will "BUCK". It definitely feels more like "engine bucking" vs "brakes grabbing".
I don't know if it's related, but it had been parked, with the engine on, for 5-10 minutes prior to the problem occuring. I am not getting a check engine light or any malfunction alert.
It lasts 3-4 seconds, and then goes away.
LUckily, I also purchased an extended warranty (just in case!!)
Has anybody else encountered this problem?
THANKS, in advance, for any advice.
Mark

If you look on top of you radiator and it has a sticker that says Valeo as the brand, it could have a problem with the coolant mixing into the transmission fluid. The only way to tell is have the dealer do a glycol test on the trans fluid to see if it has coolant in it. If it does, you will need to replace the radiator and flush the trans fluid. This is just one possibility, it could be many different things but this is the more common issue with those symptoms.
