Harmon Karmond?
Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone knew any specs on the E class regular sound system. Also if anyone knew anything about the Harmond Karmond sound system. What I really want to know is how big the subwoofer is on the HK and if it goes boom.

I think there is regular stereo, speech mode, driver centered and Logic 7. Maybe one other mode. You can adjust the treble and bass. You can bring the sound more to the front/rear of the car, or toward the driver (left or right side of the car).

Logic 7 is a name (proprietary) that describes a system to take any 2 channel sound (stereo) and using logic, derive upto 7 channels of positional stereo information from it and drive front left/center/right and rear left/right and woofer speakers. I believe that if the music already came with multichannel, then it could only need to derive the missing channels, upto 7, from them. It can also go the other way and take multichannel infomation down to less channels.
When engaged, it makes the music sound more spacious and "surround" the listner, as opposed to coming, say, just from the door speakers.

I agree... I also think it's one of the best stock sounds systems around. The subs are also very good for stock.

well it doesnt have the boom like a quality sub would have but the speakers itself are top notch

It does boom, but it will not vibrate your hair and nose like the systems I had years back. It will, however, play very loud, cleanly. Also, the output is of high enough quality that you will really notice the inferior quality of FM stereo comared to CD's.
