Redo Front End of 2003 e320

Hi all,

Got into a minor fender bender and crunched the front bumper and grille. Took the car to shop and it looks like the front lamp projectors also need to be replaced. Basically have to repair the whole front of the car for what initially appeared to be pretty minor damage.

My question to you is if you had to repair the front of your car, would you take go back to what it was (vanilla oem) or would you do something different? Is there a body kit that you would recommend? Grille style? Would you do an upgrade to HID headlights? Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming that insurance pays the claim adjusted amount and that I would pay for anything better out of pocket. Or would the insurance company not even allow that?

This should be how it works. If it was me I would find a used e55 bumper in good condition, and repaint it. You would probably SAVE some money going this route vs. buying a brand new OEM bumper.
