New Wheels Just Out - E63 Rep's

Hey look what just popped up on Ebay.... E63 Replica wheels... But in 19's
Here's a pic of the real deal and the rep... Looks pretty good. Wonder about fitment for my E500 though, appearently only available in 19" x 8" et32 and 19" x 9" et35. Whatda think?

PS The grill is comming off [its in good condition - only a couple of months old] if anybody wants it PM me, will do a Paypal deal for $100. Buyer pays Shipping.

Yes I called the place that was posting the ebay advertisement. I just ordered the wheels since I have almost brand new tires already. I have an E500 with a couple of mods done to it.

Would you put on an E55 "replica" body kit - as in fiberglass?

Maybe add some AMG badges to make a "replica" E55?

Woud you wear a replica Rolex with the $10 pair of Oakleys from Mexico and $3 Nike shirt?

Replica stuff is for those who buy cubic zirconia over diamonds. What do you think of that person flipping burgers with the giant CZ dangling from them? Wow! - they are cool, look at those giant diamonds, I bet they are rich!

Replica = Fake.

I'm sticking with my real E63 wheels.

Authentic E63 wheels would be nice but since Mercedes does not make E63 wheels in 19", and I wanted 19", this is our only option. Besides they are just wheels, and I would bet that more than a few E63 owners would like their factory wheels in 19". So this is just another option for them.

I would be more worried about the quality of the wheel more than anything else. Most replica wheels are made in China or Taiwan and don't stand up too well to potholes and such. I would hate to have a wheel crack while doing 125mph, just to save a few bucks.

There's a reason real E63 wheels are expensive.

Along with all of the above said, how heavy are these replicas? Not only might the quality be inferior but you might also cause your performance to suffer. The one who purchased these please post results for all...

you are just driving around in a E500, not racing hard core. the replicas look nice. they will be a upgrade. who care if they aren't amg. you don't have a amg car. how much performance will you really notice losing? why do you think the aftermarket wheel companies exist. many people here have aftermarket wheels. these may well have a TUV listing to allow sales in germany. go for it.

2005 E55 ///AMG
25 pound front
27 pound rear

This is what the Ebay lister told me the weights were when I asked. That appears to be lighter than the stock 18" wheels.

Ask the seller where they are made, then make your decision.

What???!!! Sorry but you don't need an AMG to "race hard core" if you must know. Had AMG and not AMG and raced everything! Superchargers and many performance mods are mfr'd for non AMG cars to boost pick up and performance so why not shed a little weight at the wheels if you can, know what I mean... Oh and by the way, I'm not against replica wheels by any means because I think there are lots of great replica wheels out there so please don't get me wrong. I also don't think the consensus in here is about the replicas as much as the re-badging or fake badging. If you buy rep. wheels do not badge them as something else! Like someone mentioned before, don't throw an E55 AMG badge on an E320!

Here are a few pictures of the replicas. Quality was very good, even better than I was expecting.

They do look nice, I'll give you that. How did you gauge the quality though? Just by looking at them?

I've done a tiny bit of research on these and they're made in China. I think these would be good for a spare set of Winter wheels or something to that affect but I definitely wouldn't track the car do any high speed runs with them. Or with any replica wheel, for that matter.

Good luck with them, they look good.

They had the real AMG one for like $2300 or so. I've recently posted under "AMG wheel". Check that out. Those wheels are running on ebay too...

here is the ebay link...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...2BSI%26otn%3D2
it is actually running right now.
