2nd Attemp with AMG Airbox = SUCESS! got Pics..
Ok Fellas, This was the 2nd attempt on the AMG Airbox install. 1st time it didnt fit properly as I was told minors Mods will get it to fit. I am Using an SL55 Airbox.
Mains reason why the AMG Box is better is that the Air flows directly Thru straight to the TB.. where as the Stock Airbox flows thru the filters the air is directed to the center oof the box then routed to the TB. the Stock Box is GREAT engineering and Hi-Flow already but with the AMG Box your are getting DIRECT AIR FLOW with no obstacles in less time..
1. remove old box.
2.You want to cut the hose clamps with a dremel or u can use needle nose pliers to remove All 4 clamps.
3.fit the Splitter it prob. wont fit without slipping off, i used black tape 1 strip around the port and it fits Tight.
4. put the boxes on to the bump stops they should fit no prob.
5. fit the hose clamps on the rubber hoses 2 per side
6. fit the hoses on the splitter and the air box and tighten it up.
7. hook up the air tubes back in place and Your Ready to Roll..
The 1st time i did it the hoses were twisted and i was getting minimal air..
I took a little more time and did it right and I actually feel MORE POWER and You can Hear more air flowing and the exhasut is a Tad louder too..
airbox and hoses fitted

I cut open the ports in the front for more Airflow next to the radiator and I have an S500 airtube on the driver side (for better flow also)
