i paid 17k for my car with 112k on the odo last year did i get a good deal.. HELL YEAH cuz i have 152k on it and I LOVE this thing Runs like a champ. Change Oil, Fill Gas, Change Tires, clean Filters will run for EVER!

Amazing it runs without any problem for 40k after 112k miles That's a very high milege. You must be lucky.

Yes, you'll see the work done on the car regardless of what dealership. But only work done under warranty meaning paied for by MB. Normal maintenance such as oil change, new brake pads etc will not show up unless your car came with rutine maintenance included.

And mine did, in fact it just expired 3 weeks ago. I don't recall if the OP's '05 came withe the 4 yr maintenance deal, but if it did, it will provide a good history for him.
