I am trying to get my Service Rep to change the settings on the DVD In motion to a higher setting since it will stop playing the DVD when I take the foot off the brake pedal.

I understand they can not change it no be on forever (for safety) but at least let the kid watch cartoons in a traffic jam, My S does it without a problem.

Is there any way I can do it by myself or can someone give the correct instructions to tell the Service Rep how to do it (They claim they do not know how) I think I saw a post a while back with different settings.

Any help?

I paid too much for this solution ($400US for the electronics and $200 for installation.) But it works really well. I can watch DVDs in my 2011 E550 at any speed.

And how is this related to this question? Your head unit is anyway different from that on a W211.

MY and COMAND version info please. On an NTG1 you can have the settings changed simply with Star diagnosis, an NTG2.5 would need a CAN bus filter.

Although I personally have not worked on a 2009 W211 COMAND, on the 2009 GL and 2008+ C-Class you can change the unit to play video up to walking speed (5-10 kph). I doubt the dealer can do it - you would need someone with a STAR in Developer Mode to make the change. 2007-2008 can be changed in Developer Mode with no limitations.
